The Unfair Professor
Life sometimes teaches you lessons the harder way. It doesn't really need a reason why or some silver lining story to make the tough part feel better. Sometimes it just keeps hurting, just keeps getting darker, without reason or cause.
Those moments, seasons, and storylines in our life will never be easy to live through, but the words echoing in our minds as a result of them may get easier to say out loud at some point. Or they won’t.
But if and when you share your story, the way you use the power infused in your words can have a profound impact on those around you. Your season of hardship may never find a good enough reason, a just enough cause to make it worth it for you. But if even one person decides to take one more stab at their dream, to get up and try for one more day - you’ve made it worth it for them.
No, Life’s most difficult lessons don’t ever come with a study guide or a user’s manual with anecdotal chapters titled:
“If the person you love most in the world leaves you, turn to page 119 for some quick 5-minute fix-it home remedies.”
However, we’ve been placed at our current longitude and latitude, surrounded by other souls, ascending the same and entirely different mountains. If we can find a way to tell our story to the best of our ability- maybe it will be in that relationship, in that connection, that someone’s climb, even simply their next step up will be easier.
The “No Real Rules” rule for life works both ways - there’s no reason we have to work through life’s lessons alone.
